Joanne Vanderhaar
Joanne is the Founder and Practitioner of Muscular Renewal Therapies. She loves working in a hands on capacity and assisting people to live pain free and functional lives, thinking outside the square to attain realistic and achievable results.
In 2017, Joanne decided on a complete career change and began her studies at MIMT completing her Cert IV in Therapeutic Massage in 2018 and Remedial Massage in June 2020.
Joanne graduated in 2021 from MIMT as a Myotherapist.
Joanne is currently working from a home based purpose built clinic 3 days per week and also currently employed at the AFL Hawthorn Football Club as a Myotherapist.
Joanne also consults two days a week at Australian Sports Physiotherapy in Ivanhoe working alongside Physiotherapists, Neurological physiotherapists and exercise Physiologists.
Joanne has also been apart the soft tissue team at the AFLW Western Bulldogs in 2020/2021, apart of the recovery programme at the NRL club Melbourne Storm, working with Roz Richards from Roz Sports and also numerous AFL clubs providing recovery massage services. She has also worked with the All Blacks Rugby League Team 2023 during their Australian tour.
She has worked at the Melbourne Marathon, Tennis Australia, and as a remedial therapist at the Box Hill Hawks VFL club from 2018-2020. Joanne is also trained as a Sports Medicine Australia Level 1 Sports Trainer and also undertaken further studies in Functional Movement under the guidance of Joanne Elphinston from JEMS movement.
Joanne and her husband Damien have been Manningham locals their entire life. Having 4 children, they loved being active in their kids sporting and general interests. They now spend time trying to squeeze in some tennis and bike riding, which they both do very badly, watching the Western Bulldogs, walking their dogs at the Yarra and cooking for friends and family.
